Flashback Sundays

Here are some more pics from my first trip back to the midwest. We visited with Jay and Becky's brand new baby girl. Mommy remembers thinking how big I seemed compared to her.

It was so nice of Na Tab to come back to see me in Toledo.

We all got together for Thai food at Bangkok Kitchen for a nice group lunch.

Squeaky clean after a nice bath!

Packing & Unpacking

This morning has been quite an exhausting one for us. While Mommy was busy packing up the bags for our trip, I was busy unpacking all the sandwich bags from the box. Needless to say we both had a lot of work to do.

Here I am in the middle of my job. I know it looks fun, but it was a lot of work. I was very occupied for about half an hour making sure they all got out.

Elmo and I are all set to go! We will try to keep you up to date on our trip if we can. Have a wonderful Labor Day and wish Mommy luck!

Tennis Trouble

Yesterday morning my tennis partner and I discovered some potential trouble to get into near the tennis courts. The park still looks like a disaster zone with tree branches all over the ground from the big storm last week. Here we are evaluating the situation and testing out the Mommy limits.

I have been known to run a pretty covert operation. So, here I am keeping track of the Mommies before I make my move.

Jackpot, inside the danger zone! Either Mommy has thrown caution to the wind or this isn't as dangerous as I thought.

Fountain Fun

Yesterday was a beautiful day after a brutal week of hot and humid weather. It was a perfect day for a trip to one of my favorite places in the city, the Terrace. Usually I spend my time walking around and exploring and climbing areas that are not so baby safe. So, Mommy was so excited when I decided to play in the water all by myself.

At the time, I don't think I realized that I was building up pressure in the fountain and spraying myself by putting my finger in the spout.

Because a couple seconds later, this is what happened to me. Hands-on learning is so much fun sometimes.

I was in a pretty daring mood yesterday, because after that learning experience I decided to go back for more.

Here I am drying off and thinking about changing my own diaper. In the end I decided on the full service option Mommy was offering.

Trains, Buses and a Petit Bateau

Yesterday we did some fall clothes shopping on Long Island. It was more a Mommy idea than mine, but at least the T-Man was there for moral support. Here we are having some snacks on the train.

Once I got out to Deer Park, I got to ride on a real school bus. It was so exciting for me since I am such a fan of them. Here I am on the bus and enthralled by the doors opening and shutting.

Here we are making a big mess at Petit Bateau. Shopping is really a Mommy thing, so we got a little rebellious and decided to have our way with the window displays. It was so nice of the salesperson to make Mommy feel better by saying that it happens all the time even though it probably doesn't.

Flashback Sundays

Last year around this time I went on my first airplane ride to visit my family in the midwest. Mommy was so nervous the whole way, but lucky for her it was pretty uneventful. Here I am asleep in the sling at the airport.

From what I remember, my first trip away was great. While I was staying with Yiayia and Pappou, I celebrated my three month birthday with a little cupcake, that my parents ate because I was still on a liquid diet.

I got to spend a lot of time getting to know all my grandparents and meeting my extended family. It was wonderful to get so much loving. Here I am with the boys, can you spot the three Vasilises in the picture?

One of the most exciting events was my first Detroit Tigers baseball game. We went with Thea, Theo and some friends. I didn't last the whole time because it was a hot day, but I had a lot of fun.

Clouds Feel the Same Way

Today I sounded my Daddy-call for our favorite morning routine. When he didn't show up, I assumed he didn't hear, so I cranked up the volume and was shocked to see who came....Mommy. A little confused, I looked everywhere for him, but he was nowhere to be found.

Needless to say, I was extremely upset, as I only wanted two things and they both happenned not to be at home, Daddy and milk. After I composed myself, Mommy told me that Daddy went to surprise our friend Marcus on his birthday. (Happy Birthday Marcus, if you are reading) Daddy, a little heads might have spared Mommy the trouble. Anyways, the clouds must have been sad too because it was raining when we left for our milk run.

Here I am walking in the rain to the grocery store, just like a big boy. I'm pretty sure that Mommy was just as excited for me as I was to wear my raincoat and boots.

On our way home we stopped at the farmers market and I got an apple cider doughnut for breakfast. Here I am polishing it off while watching the taxis go by.

Itsy Bitsy Spiders

Yesterday we went to the zoo after our morning walk and running some errands. It was great to visit all our animal friends and give them little snacks. We always have lots of fun playing in the spider web at the end of the petting zoo.

Since we love to climb anything and everything, safe or not, this is the perfect thing for us. Here we are pretending to be spiders weaving our web.

And here I am a couple minutes later pretending to be a bug caught in the spider's web. Mommy thinks I look delicious!

Pool Party

Today was another hot and sticky day. To beat the heat, my friend Enzo invited me over for a pool party in his backyard. Here we all are taking a little dip. We all had so much fun, thanks Enzo and Martica.

For a while I thought my nose was my mouth, then my lips and sometimes even my teeth. Needless to say, I was a little confused. I'm so glad my friend Teddy recently took me aside and straightened me out. Here I am making him proud.

It was the perfect afternoon to kick back and lounge about in the hammock. I was a little scared at first, but I quickly got used to how relaxing it was. It reminded me of a certain swing I used to have that suddenly disappeared.

Not So Hungry Hippo

Last night there was a big thunderstorm here in the city. All I could dream about were rain puddles and my new rain boots. I put them on first thing this morning and didn't even think about breakfast. I was a little sad that Mommy had other plans for us, so there was no puddle-stomping today.

She more than made it up to me in the afternoon by taking me to a new playground. I was so excited to explore all the different slides and jungle gyms. Here I am climbing the big kid slide. It was a little scary, but I was very proud of myself when I made it to the top.

The playground had all these hippos lounging about and squirting water. It was perfect for another hot day. I had lots of fun making friends with all the hippos.

Here I am riding a baby hippo with no hands.....all I need now is a cowboy hat.

Heat Wave

It was a hot one in the city today. It was over 80 degrees when we left the apartment early this morning for our walk. To stay cool we went to the Children's Museum for some morning fun. I had my first experience with playdough and used my famous exploratory finger to check it out.

While experimenting, I may or may not have eaten a little bit. I'm not going to admit to anything here, but I possibly learned that playdough is not yummy.

After my nap I met some friends at the Terrace for some fountain fun to cool down. Here I am running away from the fountains after being put in one by Mommy. At least she got soaked too...gotta love instant karma.

Uptown Baby, Downtown Fun

On Sunday my parents took me on a short excursion to Chelsea for some downtown fun. Here I am on the High Line right by Chelsea Piers with Daddy and not so excited to still be in the stroller.

The High Line was really cool. It was a lot of fun walking the path and pointing out the railroad tracks. I loved watching the barges and boats on the river while admiring the view of New Jersey.

After walking from 20th Street to Gansevoort, I was pretty hungry so we stopped for lunch in the West Village before heading back home. Here I am flexing my guns in my highchair at Fatty Crab.

Flashback Sundays

Back in the good old days, before Daddy left for work he would feed me, change me and put me back in bed with Mommy for some extra zzzzs. We usually didn't start our days until after 9am.....what a nice life for Mommy.

Mommy really did have it pretty good back then. I used to love napping in my swing and then sit and watch traffic go by out my window. Life was so simple back then.

Here I am at 12 weeks old with no idea how much fun I would be having a year later.

Bad Hair Day...Maybe Got Worse

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I've been having some hair issues lately. So it was definitely time to get a little trim.

Daddy suggested I get the same cut as him and even offered to do it himself, but I thought I should keep my hair while I still have some. So off we went to a kid's salon in the neighborhood. Here I am with Mommy pre-cut and very suspicious.

I have to admit that the fancy car and Elmo video were good distractions, but I caught on very quickly. For better, but probably worse, the whole thing only lasted 20 minutes...I think you can tell from my cut.

There were tears and some loud protesting, but all in all, not such a terrible experience. Here I am with the new cut, not really sure what style Mommy was going for other than shorter. At least hair grows, next time I will give her more direction.

No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn

Today Mommy took me on an big adventure to Brooklyn. I didn't want to miss out on any fun, so I only took half of my usual afternoon winks.

I am a bus fanatic. I love to watch them from my window, read about them, play with them and point them out every time I see them. Basically I was in heaven at the Transit Museum this morning. I drove three different kinds of buses; learned how they work; and got to get on and off as many times as I wanted.

Here I am on one of my many loops around the bus exhibit. I spent most of my time running around shrieking because I could not contain my excitement.

Afterwards we strolled to DUMBO for lunch and play. We went to Bubby's because it was next to a ship themed playground that looked like so much fun. I didn't eat much lunch so I snacked on some sand to tide me over until Mommy gave me something more appropriate to eat, like ice cream.
